Définitions

  • Pression de référence : Pression atmosphérique normale au niveau de la mer (101325 Pa ou 1013,25 mbar). La masse volumique de l'air diminue avec l'altitude.
  • Masse volumique de l'air humide : À une température donnée, l'air humide est plus léger que l'air sec car la molécule d'eau (H₂O) est plus légère que les molécules majoritaires de l'air (N₂ et O₂).

Comment calculer la masse volumique de l'air humide ?

On modélise l'air humide comme un mélange de gaz parfaits : ρ = p_d/(R_d·T) + p_v/(R_v·T), avec T en kelvins, p_d = p − p_v, p_v = φ·p_ws(T), R_d = 287,05 J·kg⁻¹·K⁻¹ et R_v = 461,5 J·kg⁻¹·K⁻¹.

L'air humide est-il plus léger que l'air sec ?

Oui. La vapeur d'eau (M = 18 g/mol) remplace une partie de l'air sec (≈29 g/mol), ce qui diminue légèrement la masse volumique à température et pression identiques.
